Canada maintained control of the global dry pea market. In 2014, Canada exported 3,272 thousand tonnes of dry peas totaling 1,206 million USD, 2% over the previous year. Its primary trading partner was India, where it supplied 36% of its total dry pea exports in value terms, accounting for 52% of India's total imports.

From 2007 to 2014, Canada was a net exporter of dry peas. Over this period, exports consistently exceeded imports in value terms. In physical terms this difference was even more pronounced.

The U.S. and France were among the other main global suppliers of dry peas in 2014. However, the fastest growing exporters from 2007 to 2014 were the United Kingdom (+19% per year) and Argentina (+17% per year).

Canada's top 5 trading partners in 2014 were the aforementioned India, along with China, Bangladesh, the U.S. and Cuba, with a combined 84% share of Canada's dry pea exports. The share of China increased significantly (+11 percentage points), while the share of India dropped sharply (-10 percentage points).
