Washing Machine Market - China Ranks First Globally in Exports of Household Washing and Drying Machines in 2014

China continued its dominance in the global household washing and drying machines trade. In 2014, China exported 21 million units of household washing and drying machines totaling 3,104 million USD, 6% over the previous year. Its primary trading partner was Japan, where it supplied 24% of its total household washing and drying machines exports in value terms, accounting for 80% of Japan's total imports.

From 2007 to 2014, China was a net exporter on the washing machine market. Over this period, exports consistently exceeded imports in value terms. The difference in physical terms was even more pronounced.

Poland and Turkey were among the other main global suppliers of household washing and drying machines in 2014. These two countries were also the fastest growing exporters from 2007 to 2014 (Poland +9% per year, Turkey +6% per year). Thailand, meanwhile, was also able to strengthen its position in the global export structure.

In 2014, China's top 5 trading partners were Japan, the U.S., the United Kingdom, the United Arab Emirates and Poland, with a combined 46% share of China's household washing and drying machines exports.
