From 2007 to 2014, EU oxygen-function amino-compound production showed mixed dynamics, ultimately rising from 768 thousand tonnes in 2007 to 785 thousand tonnes in 2014. It expanded with a CAGR of +0.3% over the period under review. In value terms, EU amino-compound production reached 2.95 billion EUR in 2014, growing by +6.3% annually.

Germany was the largest producer of oxygen-function amino-compounds in absolute volumes, with 351 thousand tonnes. It was distantly followed by Sweden (56 thousand tonnes) and Hungary (27 thousand tonnes).

Positive dynamics in amino-compound production among the main producing countries from 2007 to 2014 were recorded in Hungary (+37.0% per year), while for the other two EU leaders (Germany and Sweden) the paces of growth were more modest.

Germany dominated in EU amino-compound production and trade. In 2014, it exported 64% of its total amino-compound output. Of this amount, 14% was supplied to France, where Germany's oxygen-function amino-compounds held the lion's share of total French imports.
