Germany Is the Leader in EU Production and Trade of Artificial Parts of the Body Medical And Dental Instruments November 18, 2015

From 2007 to 2014, EU production of artificial parts of the body showed steady growth, rising from 1,308 million EUR in 2007 to 2,018 million EUR in 2014. It expanded with a CAGR of 6.4% over the period under review.

The countries with the largest production of artificial parts of the body in absolute value were Germany (829 million EUR), France (262 million EUR), Italy (243 million EUR) and the United Kingdom (177 million EUR).

Positive dynamics in production of artificial parts of the body among the main producing countries from 2007 to 2014 were recorded in Germany (+12.1% per year), while for the other three EU leaders (France, Italy and the United Kingdom) the pace of growth was more modest.

Germany dominated in EU production and trade of artificial parts of the body. In 2014, Germany exported 54% of its total product's output. Of this amount, 19% was supplied to the U.S., where Germany's artificial parts of the body held a 3% share of total the U.S. imports.
