Germany Is the Main EU Exporter of Printed Circuits

From 2007 to 2014, EU printed circuit production showed mixed dynamics, finally falling from 5,552 million units in 2007 to 4,141 million units in 2014. It dropped with a CAGR of -4.1% over the period under review. In value terms, EU printed circuit production was 5,933 million EUR in 2014, growing by +3.6% annually.

The countries with the largest production of printed circuits in absolute volumes were Hungary (1,525 thousand tonnes) and Germany (1,352 thousand tonnes). They were distantly followed by Italy (419 thousand tonnes) and Austria (354 thousand tonnes).

Positive dynamics in printed circuit production among the main producing countries from 2007 to 2014 were recorded in Germany (+1.4% per year).

Germany ranked second in EU printed circuit production and dominated in trade. In 2014, it exported 61% of its total printed circuit output. Of this amount, 17% was supplied to Hungary, where Germany's printed circuits held a 23% share of total Hungarian imports.
