From 2007 to 2014, EU production of tubes, pipes and hoses of vulcanized rubber showed positive dynamics, except for the drop recorded in 2009, when it fell by 33% due to the economic and financial crisis. In 2014, EU production of tubes and hoses of vulcanized rubber stood at 435 thousand tonnes, which was 22 thousand tonnes more than in 2013. In value terms, EU rubber tube production reached 3,902 million EUR in 2014, growing by 2.1% annually.

Germany was the largest producer of rubber tubes and hoses in absolute volumes (70 thousand tonnes). It was distantly followed by the Czech Republic (31 thousand tonnes), Spain (25 thousand tonnes), the United Kingdom (24 thousand tonnes) and Bulgaria (21 thousand tonnes).

Positive dynamics in rubber tube production among the main producing countries from 2007 to 2014 were observed in Bulgaria (+1.4% per year), while for the other four EU leaders (Germany, the Czech Republic, Spain and the UK) the paces of growth were more modest or negative.

Germany dominated in EU tube of vulcanized rubber production and trade. In 2014, Germany exported the lion's share of its total rubber tube output. Of this amount, 8% was supplied to France, where Germany's tubes of vulcanized rubber held a 22% share of total French imports.
