From 2008 to 2014, EU production on the vacuum cleaner market showed growth dynamics, rising from 11 736 thousand units in 2008 to 14 358 thousand units in 2014.

It expanded with a CAGR of 3.4% over the period under review. In value terms, EU vacuum cleaner production reached 1 258 million EUR in 2014, growing by 2.2% annually.

The countries with the largest production of vacuum cleaners in absolute volumes were Germany (5 129 thousand units) and Italy (2 178 thousand units), together comprising 51% of EU vacuum cleaner production. Over the period from 2008 to 2014, average annual growth rates of vacuum cleaner production in these countries stood at 2.3% and 0.3%, respectively.

Germany dominated in EU vacuum cleaner production and trade. In 2014, Germany exported 51% of its total vacuum cleaner output. Of this amount, 15% was supplied to France, where Germany's vacuum cleaners held a 15% share of total France imports.
