Germany Remains the Largest Exporter of Homogenized Composite Food Preparations in the World Other Food Products August 04, 2015

Germany continued its dominance in the global trade of homogenized composite food preparations. In 2014, Germany exported 14 thousand tonnes of homogenized composite food preparations totaling 68 million USD, 6% under the previous year. Its primary trading partner was France, where it supplied 21% of its total homogenized composite food preparation exports in value terms, accounting for 44% of France's total imports.

From 2007 to 2014, Germany was a net exporter of homogenized composite food preparations. Over this period, exports consistently exceeded imports in value terms. However, in physical terms, the difference was less pronounced.

The Czech Republic and France were among the other main global suppliers of homogenized composite food preparations in 2014. However, the fastest growing exporters from 2007 to 2014 were Canada (+68% per year) and the United Kingdom (+11% per year).

In 2014, Germany's top 5 trading partners were France, the United Kingdom, Italy, Austria and the Netherlands, with a combined 72% share of Germany's homogenized composite food preparation exports. The share of Italy increased significantly (+6 percentage points), while the share of the United Kingdom illustrated negative dynamics (-7 percentage points).
