From 2007 to 2014, EU production of universal Ac/Dc motors showed mixed dynamics, falling from 148 million units in 2007 to 106 million units in 2014. It dropped with a CAGR of 4.7% over the period under review. In value terms, EU Ac/Dc motor production reached 11 748 million EUR in 2014, growing by 0.6% annually.

The countries with the largest production of universal motors in value terms were Germany (3 537 million EUR), distantly followed by Finland (523 million units), Croatia (45 million EUR) and Estonia (19 million units).

Positive dynamics in Ac/Dc motor production among the main producing countries from 2007 to 2014 were recorded in Croatia (+6.0% per year), while for the other three EU leaders (Germany, Finland and Estonia) the paces of growth were negative.

Germany dominated in EU universal Ac/Dc motor production and trade. In 2014, Germany exported 98% of its total motor output. Of this amount, 8% was supplied to Italy, where Germany's universal motors held a 35% share of total Italy imports.
