Telephone Market - Germany is the Key EU Exporter of Telephones and Videophones

From 2008 to 2014, EU telephone and videophone production showed mixed dynamics, ultimately falling from 22,097 thousand units in 2008 to 17,028 thousand units in 2014. It dropped with a CAGR of -4.3% over the period under review. In value terms, EU telephone and videophone production decreased to 448 million EUR in 2014, falling by -9.4% annually.

The countries with the largest production on the telephone market in absolute volumes were Spain (2,377 thousand units) and Germany (2,127 thousand units). However, production rates of telephones and videophones in physical terms decreased in both countries. The more significant production drop was recorded in Germany (-30.5%).

Germany ranked second in EU telephone and videophone production and dominated in trade. In 2014, it exported the lion's share of its total telephone and videophone output. Of this amount, 15% was supplied to the Netherlands, where Germany's telephones and videophones held an 8% share of total country's imports.
