From 2008 to 2014, EU production on the video camera market showed a decrease in dynamics, falling from 8 102 thousand units in 2008 to 2 423 thousand units in 2014. It dropped with a CAGR of 18.2% over the period under review. In value terms, EU production of recorders and digital cameras decreased to 561 million EUR in 2014, falling by 10.2% annually.

The countries with the largest production of cameras and video recording equipment in absolute volumes were Hungary (361 thousand units), Germany (347 thousand units) and the United Kingdom (50 thousand units).

Dynamics in the production of video recorders and digital cameras among the main producing countries in the period from 2008 to 2014 were positive in the United Kingdom (+10.2% per year) and Germany (+9.4% per year), however for Hungary the pace of growth was negative (-36.2%).

Hungary dominated in EU production of video recorders and digital cameras and was listed among the top ten trade leaders. In 2014, Hungary exported the lion's share of its total recorder and digital camera output. Of this amount, 8% was supplied to the United Kingdom, where Hungary's video camera recorders and digital cameras held a 1% share of the total United Kingdom imports.
