Italy Is the Leader in the EU Belt Trade Wearing Apparel November 12, 2015

From 2007 to 2014, EU belt and bandolier production showed mixed dynamics, falling from 96 million units in 2007 to 66 million units in 2014. Over the period under review, it dropped with a CAGR of 5.3%. In value terms, EU belt and bandolier production decreased to 583 million EUR in 2014, falling by 1.8% annually.

The countries with the largest production of belts and bandoliers in absolute volumes were Italy (31.3 million units), Spain (7.1 million units), Germany (4.1 million units) and the Netherlands (3.9 million units).

Negative dynamics in production of belts and bandoliers among the main producing countries from 2007 to 2014 were observed in Germany (-13.2% per year), Italy (-7.8% per year) and Spain (-1.0% per year).

Italy dominated in EU belt and bandolier production and trade. In 2014, Italy exported 4.2 thousand tonnes of belts and bandoliers. Of this amount, 17% was supplied to Switzerland, where Italian belts and bandoliers held a 57% share of total Switzerland imports.
