From 2007 to 2014, EU production of iron tube or pipe fittings showed mixed dynamics, eventually falling from 1,400 thousand tonnes in 2007 to 1,110 thousand tonnes in 2014. It dropped with a CAGR of 3.3% over the period under review. In value terms, EU tube or pipe fitting production decreased to 4,603 million EUR in 2014, falling by 1.4% annually.

The countries with the largest production of steel tube fittings in absolute volumes were Austria (764 thousand tonnes), Italy (368 thousand tonnes), Germany (233 thousand tonnes) and the United Kingdom (183 thousand tonnes).

Positive dynamics in tube or pipe fitting production among the main producing countries from 2007 to 2014 were observed in the UK (+6.8% per year) and Austria (+2.3%), while for the other two EU leaders (Italy and Germany) the paces of growth were negative.

Italy ranked second in the EU tube fitting production and dominated in trade. In 2014, it exported 82% of its total iron tube or pipe fittings output. Of this amount, 11% was supplied to Germany, where Italian tube fittings held a 20% share of total Germany's imports.
