Poland Stays ahead of Competition in EU TV Receiver Production

From 2007 to 2014, EU television receiver production showed mixed dynamics: production steadily increased until it reached its peak in 2010. However, in 2011 it started to decline. Finally, EU TV receiver production dropped to the rates of 2008 and amounted to 44,503 thousand units by 2014. In value terms, EU TV receiver production decreased to 10,424 million EUR in 2014, falling by -5.5% annually.

Poland was the largest producer of TV receivers in absolute volumes (15,772 thousand units). It was followed distantly by Slovakia (7,997 thousand units) and Hungary (6,862 thousand units).

Positive dynamics in television receiver production among the main producing countries from 2007 to 2014 were observed in Poland (+2.6% per year) and Slovakia (+2.5% per year), while for Hungary the pace of growth was negative (-5.1% per year).

Poland dominated in EU television receiver production and ranked third in trade. In 2014, it exported 94% of its total TV receiver output. Of this amount, 14% was supplied to Germany, where Poland's TV receivers held a 12% share of total Germany's imports.
