Truck Market - Spain is the Key Player in the EU Truck Trade

From 2007 to 2014, EU production on the truck market showed negative dynamics, falling from 22,580 thousand units in 2007 to 16,880 thousand units in 2014. It dropped with a CAGR of 4.1% over the period under review. In value terms, EU truck production decreased to 35,631 million EUR in 2014, falling by 3.2% annually.

The countries with the largest production of trucks in absolute volumes were Portugal (432 thousand units), Spain (407 thousand units) and Germany (358 thousand units).

Positive dynamics in truck production among the main producing countries from 2007 to 2014 were recorded in Portugal (+14.6% per year), while for Spain and Germany the paces of growth were negative.

Spain ranked second in EU trucks production and dominated in trade. In 2014, it exported 73% of its total truck output. Of this amount, 40% was supplied to France, where Spain's trucks held a 54% share of total French imports.
