Sweden is the Main EU Producer and Exporter of Uncoated Kraft Liner

From 2007 to 2014, EU uncoated kraft liner production showed mixed dynamics, finally rising from 4,016 thousand tonnes in 2007 to 4,168 thousand tonnes in 2014. It expanded with a CAGR of 0.5% over the period under review. In value terms, EU kraft liner production reached 2,248 million EUR in 2014, growing by 1.2% annually.

Sweden had the largest uncoated kraft liner production in absolute volumes, with 1,692 thousand tonnes. It was followed distantly by Portugal (356 thousand tonnes) and Finland (57 thousand tonnes).

Positive dynamics in uncoated kraft liner production among the main producing countries from 2007 to 2014 were recorded in Portugal (+2.0% per year), while for the other two EU leaders (Sweden and Finland) the paces of growth were negative.

Sweden dominated in EU uncoated kraft liner production and trade. In 2014, it exported 93% of its total uncoated kraft liner output. Of this amount, 27% was supplied to Germany, where Sweden's uncoated kraft liner held a 36% share of total German imports.
