EU beer production showed mixed dynamics over the period under review, falling from 4.6 billion liters in 2007 to 3.7 billion liters in 2014. From 2007 to 2014, it dropped with a CAGR of 3.0%. In value terms, EU beer production decreased to 2.9 billion EUR in 2014, falling 0.6% annually.

The countries with the largest production of beer in absolute volumes were Germany (842 million liters), the United Kingdom (512 million liters), Poland (397 million liters) and Spain (320 million liters).

Positive dynamics in beer production among the main producing countries from 2007 to 2014 were recorded in Poland (+1.3% per year), while for the other three EU leaders (Germany, the United Kingdom and Spain) the pace of growth was negative.

The United Kingdom dominated in EU beer production and trade. In 2014, the United Kingdom exported 879 million liters of beer. Of this amount, 24% was supplied to Ireland, where the United Kingdom's beer held a 25% share of total Ireland imports.
