The United Kingdom is the Leader in the EU X-ray Apparatus Production and Trade

In the period from 2007 to 2014, EU X-ray apparatus production showed mixed dynamics, falling from 309 thousand units in 2007 to 11 thousand units in 2014. Over the period under review, it dropped with a CAGR of 13.6%. In value terms, EU X-ray apparatus production reached 4,362 million EUR in 2014, growing by 2.6% annually.

The countries with the largest production of X-ray apparatus in absolute volumes were the United Kingdom (28 thousand units), Finland (21 thousand units), Germany (17 thousand units) and Italy (15 thousand units).

Positive dynamics in X-ray apparatus production among the main producing countries from 2007 to 2014 were recorded in Finland (+4.8% per year), while for the other three EU leaders (the United Kingdom, Germany and Italy) the paces of growth were more modest or negative.

The United Kingdom dominated in EU X-ray apparatus production and trade. In 2014, the United Kingdom exported the lion's share of its total X-ray apparatus output. Of this amount, 6% was supplied to France, where the United Kingdom X-ray apparatus held a 36% share of total imports in France.
