Manufactured Home Market - U.S. Mobile Home Exports Plummet after Years of Steady Growth

The U.S. ranks third in global exports on the manufactured home market with a 16% share (based on USD), following China (19%) and Germany (21%).

U.S. mobile home exports showed mixed dynamics from 2007 to 2015. A significant drop in 2009 was followed by steady growth over the next five years, until exports fell by 21%, down to 1,280 million USD in 2015.

In 2015, Canada, which accounted for 78% of total exports, was the main destination of U.S. mobile home exports. It was followed by Mexico (2%), Australia, United Arab Emirates, and the UK (1% each).

From 2007 to 2015, the U.S. was a net exporter of mobile homes. Net U.S. exports of mobile homes showed an upward trend from 2010 to 2014. However, the trade surplus decreased to 620 million USD in 2015.
