The global hand tool market had total revenues of 30,394 million USD in 2015. In physical terms, the market increased to 2,675 thousand tonnes.

According to market research conducted by IndexBox, in 2015, the U.S. (7,137 million USD), South Korea (2,240 million USD), India (1,722 million USD), China (1,482 million USD), and Thailand (1,434 million USD) were the leading consuming markets, together accounting for approximately 46% of global consumption. These countries were also the leading producers of hand tools in the world.

With nearly 23% of hand tools consumed in 2015, the U.S. became the world's leading hand tool consuming country. Per capita hand tool consumption in the U.S. was estimated at 22 USD/year, which was significantly higher than the global average (4 USD/year).

The highest levels of hand tool consumption were registered in South Korea (45 USD/year), Canada (27 USD/year), Thailand (21 USD/year), Germany (13 USD/year), and Australia (12 USD/year). India and China (1 USD/year each) had the lowest levels of hand tool consumption.
