Which Countries Export the Most Headphones?

From 2007 to 2015, global exports on the headphone market grew by +7.8% per year, amounting to 7,365 million USD in 2015. In physical terms, exports stood at 186 million units in 2015, which was 17 million units (8%) less than the year before.

In 2015, according to market research conducted by IndexBox, China (4,129 million USD) was the main exporter of headphones in the world, comprising 56% of global exports. From 2007 to 2015, the average annual growth rate of headphone exports from China stood at +11.0%.

The U.S. held second place in this ranking with a 6% share, followed by Germany, Mexico, and the U.K. (5%, each).

While the share of China showed a significant increase from 44% in 2007 to 56% in 2015, the share of the U.K. increased more modestly (+3 percentage points). By contrast, the U.S. (-2 percentage points), Germany (-2 percentage points), and Mexico (-3 percentage points) saw their shares reduced. The shares of the other countries remained relatively stable throughout the analyzed period.
