Which Countries Export the Most Pepper?

From 2007 to 2015, global exports on the pepper market surged by +15.7% per year, amounting to 3,408 million USD in 2015. This was 316 million USD (10%) more than in 2014. In physical terms, exports stood at 401 thousand tonnes in 2015.

In 2015, according to market research conducted by IndexBox, Viet Nam (130 thousand tonnes) was the main exporter of pepper in the world, comprising 32% of global exports, and remaining the fastest growing exporter.

Indonesia held the second spot in this ranking with a 14% share, followed by Brazil (10%) and India (9%). The balance of countries have posted mixed dynamics over the last eight years: Indonesia (+5.3%), India (-3.9%).

Whilst the share of Viet Nam (+6 percentage points) and Indonesia (+2 percentage points) increased, the share of Brazil (-3 percentage points) and India (-7 percentage points) displayed negative dynamics.
