Which Countries Import the Most Headphones?

In 2015, the value of total imports on the global headphone market stood at 7,860 million USD. Overall, there was an annual increase of +5.8% for the period from 2007 to 2015. In physical terms, the total volume of headphone was 199 million units in 2015, 18 million units (8%) less than the year before.

In 2015, according to market research conducted by IndexBox, the U.S. (1,480 million USD) and China (1,425 million USD) were the main destinations of headphone imports, together comprising 37% of total imports.

From 2007 to 2015, China had the highest growth rate of imports, with a CAGR of +15.6%, followed by the U.S. (+8.1%).

The U.S. and China were followed by Germany and the U.K. with 7% and 6% shares of global imports, respectively. Over the last eight years, Germany's imports increased with an annual growth rate of +3.7%, while the U.K. grew at +4.3% annual rate.

China (+9 percentage points) and the U.S. (+3 percentage points) strengthened their positions in the global import structure, while the shares of the other countries remained relatively stable throughout the analyzed period.
