The value of total imports on the global manuka market in 2015 stood at 93.6 million USD. There was an annual increase of +28.9% for the period from 2007 to 2015. In physical terms, manuka imports reached 3,713 tonnes in 2015, an increase of 296 tonnes (9%) against the previous year.

In 2015, according to market research conducted by IndexBox, China (1,449 tonnes), Australia (502 tonnes), Singapore (365 tonnes), Japan (305 tonnes) and the U.S. (246 tonnes) were the main destinations for manuka imports, together comprising 77% of total imports.

From 2007 to 2015, China posted the highest rates of growth in terms of imports, with a CAGR of +33.4%. It was followed by the U.S. (+23.2%), Australia (+15.3%) and Japan (+14.6%).

China significantly strengthened its position in terms of global imports, while Singapore reduced its share from 20% in 2007, to 10% in 2015. The shares of the other countries remained relatively stable throughout the analyzed period.
