Aluminium Wire Price in Croatia (CIF) - 2023

In July 2023, the average aluminium wire import price amounted to $3,382 per ton, dropping by -2.2% against the previous month. In general, the import price saw a mild decline. The growth pace was the most rapid in May 2023 an increase of 122% against the previous month. As a result, import price reached the peak level of $8,079 per ton. From June 2023 to July 2023, the average import prices remained at a lower figure.

There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major supplying countries. In July 2023, the country with the highest price was Spain ($4,938 per ton), while the price for Italy ($3,179 per ton) was amongst the lowest.

From July 2022 to July 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by the Netherlands (+2.9%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced more modest paces of growth.

The average aluminium wire export price stood at $3,605 per ton in July 2023, waning by -3.6% against the previous month. Over the period under review, the export price saw a relatively flat trend pattern. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in January 2023 when the average export price increased by 9.9% against the previous month. Over the period under review, the average export prices attained the peak figure at $3,876 per ton in April 2023; however, from May 2023 to July 2023, the export prices failed to regain momentum.

As there is only one major export destination, the average price level is determined by prices for Bosnia and Herzegovina.

From July 2022 to July 2023, the rate of growth in terms of prices for Bosnia and Herzegovina amounted to -0.5% per month.

In 2022, after three years of growth, there was decline in purchases abroad of aluminium wires, when their volume decreased by -2% to 5.6K tons. Over the period under review, total imports indicated a resilient expansion from 2019 to 2022: its volume increased at an average annual rate of +14.6% over the last three years. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2022 figures, imports increased by +50.6% against 2019 indices. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2020 with an increase of 46%.

In value terms, aluminium wire imports declined sharply to $15M in 2022. In general, total imports indicated prominent growth from 2019 to 2022: its value increased at an average annual rate of +18.4% over the last three-year period. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2022 figures, imports increased by +66.1% against 2019 indices. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2021 with an increase of 48%. As a result, imports attained the peak of $18M, and then declined markedly in the following year.
