Aluminium Wire Price in Indonesia (CIF) - 2022
In March 2022, the average aluminium wire import price amounted to $4,743 per ton, with an increase of 10% against the previous month. Over the last twelve months, it increased at an average monthly rate of +1.7%. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in July 2021 an increase of 15% against the previous month. Over the period under review, average import prices reached the peak figure in March 2022.
There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major supplying countries. In March 2022, the country with the highest price was Japan ($10,195 per ton), while the price for Malaysia ($3,648 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From March 2021 to March 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by India (+3.4%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced more modest paces of growth.
Aluminium Wire Price in Indonesia (FOB) - 2022
In March 2022, the average aluminium wire export price amounted to $3,758 per ton, shrinking by -2.3% against the previous month. Over the period from March 2021 to March 2022, it increased at an average monthly rate of +2.9%. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in September 2021 when the average export price increased by 13% against the previous month. Over the period under review, the average export prices reached the maximum at $3,950 per ton in November 2021; however, from December 2021 to March 2022, the export prices failed to regain momentum.
Average prices varied somewhat for the major overseas markets. In March 2022, the highest price was recorded for prices to Pakistan ($4,703 per ton) and Thailand ($4,550 per ton), while the average price for exports to Austria ($3,487 per ton) and Malaysia ($3,550 per ton) were amongst the lowest.
From March 2021 to March 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to the Philippines (+3.7%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.
Aluminium Wire Imports in Indonesia
In 2022, supplies from abroad of aluminium wires was finally on the rise to reach 6.8K tons for the first time since 2019, thus ending a two-year declining trend. Over the period under review, imports, however, saw a pronounced decrease.
In value terms, aluminium wire imports shrank to $23M in 2022. In general, imports saw a relatively flat trend pattern. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2021 with an increase of 32%. As a result, imports reached the peak of $26M, and then declined in the following year.

Aluminium Wire Exports in Indonesia
In 2022, the amount of aluminium wires exported from Indonesia expanded remarkably to 5.4K tons, increasing by 7% against the previous year. Over the period under review, exports continue to indicate a relatively flat trend pattern. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2020 with an increase of 9.5%. As a result, the exports reached the peak of 5.7K tons. From 2021 to 2022, the growth of the exports remained at a lower figure.
In value terms, aluminium wire exports contracted to $14M in 2022. The total export value increased at an average annual rate of +3.0% from 2019 to 2022; the trend pattern remained consistent, with only minor fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2021 with an increase of 18% against the previous year. As a result, the exports attained the peak of $15M, and then reduced in the following year.
