Aluminium Wire Price in the United States (CIF) - 2023

The average aluminium wire import price stood at $3,124 per ton in August 2023, approximately equating the previous month. Overall, the import price showed a mild curtailment. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in November 2022 when the average import price increased by 5.3% m-o-m. The import price peaked at $3,573 per ton in August 2022; however, from September 2022 to August 2023, import prices stood at a somewhat lower figure.

Average prices varied noticeably amongst the major supplying countries. In August 2023, the country with the highest price was Canada ($3,148 per ton), while the price for Bahrain ($2,701 per ton) was amongst the lowest.

From August 2022 to August 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Bahrain (-0.2%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced a decline.

In 2022, the average aluminium wire export price amounted to $4,653 per ton, falling by -7.3% against the previous year. Over the last decade, it increased at an average annual rate of +2.6%. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2021 when the average export price increased by 18% against the previous year. As a result, the export price attained the peak level of $5,022 per ton, and then declined in the following year.

Average prices varied somewhat for the major overseas markets. In 2022, amid the top suppliers, the countries with the highest prices were China ($5,417 per ton) and Japan ($5,339 per ton), while the average price for exports to Spain ($3,781 per ton) and Italy ($4,153 per ton) were amongst the lowest.
