Antisera Price in Uganda (CIF) - 2022

In 2022, the average antisera import price amounted to $75,380 per ton, falling by -40.7% against the previous year. In general, the import price saw a slight downturn. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2013 when the average import price increased by 122% against the previous year. Over the period under review, average import prices attained the peak figure at $201,336 per ton in 2018; however, from 2019 to 2022, import prices stood at a somewhat lower figure.

There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major supplying countries. In 2022, amid the top importers, the country with the highest price was Japan ($439,777 per ton), while the price for China ($20,349 per ton) was amongst the lowest.

From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Japan (+8.6%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced more modest paces of growth.

Antisera Price in Uganda (FOB) - 2022

In 2022, the average antisera export price amounted to $203,735 per ton, picking up by 3.6% against the previous year. Overall, the export price posted strong growth. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2016 when the average export price increased by 249%. As a result, the export price reached the peak level of $433,719 per ton. From 2017 to 2022, the average export prices failed to regain momentum.

Prices varied noticeably by country of destination: amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was Belgium ($367,000 per ton), while the average price for exports to Canada ($1,000 per ton) was amongst the lowest.

From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Belgium (+27.6%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.

Antisera Imports in Uganda

Antisera imports into Uganda rose markedly to 171 tons in 2022, surging by 11% compared with 2021. In general, imports, however, saw a abrupt descent. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2020 when imports increased by 54%. As a result, imports reached the peak of 401 tons. From 2021 to 2022, the growth of imports remained at a somewhat lower figure.

In value terms, antisera imports reduced remarkably to $13M in 2022. Overall, imports, however, faced a dramatic slump. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2020 when imports increased by 1.5%. As a result, imports reached the peak of $26M. From 2021 to 2022, the growth of imports remained at a somewhat lower figure.

Antisera Exports in Uganda

For the third consecutive year, Uganda recorded decline in shipments abroad of antisera and other blood fractions, which decreased by -2.9% to 34 kg in 2022. Overall, exports saw a significant decline.

In value terms, antisera exports amounted to $6.9K in 2022. In general, exports, however, saw a relatively flat trend pattern. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2021 when exports increased by 0.7%. Over the period under review, the exports reached the maximum in 2022 and are expected to retain growth in the near future.
