Over the period under review, global imports hit record highs in 2022 and are expected to retain growth in the near future.

In value terms, articles of fiber cement imports amounted to $1.8B in 2022. Overall, total imports indicated strong growth from 2012 to 2022: its value increased at an average annual rate of +6.2% over the last decade. Belgium, the Czech Republic, Malaysia, Mexico, Italy, El Salvador, India, Indonesia, Colombia and Russia lagged somewhat behind, together comprising a further 29%.

In terms of the main exporting countries, Indonesia, with a CAGR of +28.4%, saw the highest growth rate of the value of exports, over the period under review, while shipments for the other global leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.
