The average carbon disulphide import price stood at $804 per ton in April 2020, with an increase of 5.1% against the previous month. Over the period under review, the import price, however, recorded a relatively flat trend pattern. Over the period under review, average import prices reached the maximum at $806 per ton in January 2020; however, from February 2020 to April 2020, import prices failed to regain momentum.
As there is only one major supplying country, the average price level is determined by prices for Argentina.
From January 2020 to April 2020, the rate of growth in terms of prices for Russia amounted to +0.7% per month.
Carbon Disulphide Imports in Peru
In 2022, imports of carbon disulphides into Peru fell significantly to 3K tons, which is down by -22% on the previous year's figure. Overall, total imports indicated a measured increase from 2019 to 2022: its volume increased at an average annual rate of +3.8% over the last three-year period. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2022 figures, imports increased by +39.2% against 2020 indices. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2021 with an increase of 78% against the previous year. As a result, imports attained the peak of 3.8K tons, and then fell remarkably in the following year.
In value terms, carbon disulphide imports shrank significantly to $2.3M in 2022. In general, total imports indicated a slight increase from 2019 to 2022: its value increased at an average annual rate of +1.8% over the last three-year period. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2022 figures, imports increased by +42.5% against 2020 indices. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2021 with an increase of 85% against the previous year. As a result, imports reached the peak of $3M, and then declined markedly in the following year.
