The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2017 when the production volume increased by 7.1% against the previous year. The general positive trend in terms output was largely conditioned by a notable increase of the harvested area and slight growth in yield figures.
In value terms, chicory production declined notably to $1.6B in 2022 estimated in export price. In general, production showed a abrupt curtailment. The global average chicory yield declined slightly to 41 tons per ha in 2022, almost unchanged from the previous year.
