In October 2023, the average chicory import price amounted to $974 per ton, shrinking by -40.8% against the previous month. In general, the import price showed a mild decrease. The growth pace was the most rapid in March 2023 an increase of 42% m-o-m. As a result, import price attained the peak level of $2,107 per ton. From April 2023 to October 2023, the average import prices remained at a somewhat lower figure.
As there is only one major supplying country, the average price level is determined by prices for India.
From October 2022 to October 2023, the rate of growth in terms of prices for Poland amounted to +6.6% per month.
Chicory Price in Germany (FOB) - 2022
The average chicory export price stood at $1,618 per ton in 2022, with a decrease of -12.9% against the previous year. Overall, the export price saw a abrupt contraction. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2021 when the average export price increased by 19% against the previous year. The export price peaked at $3,799 per ton in 2012; however, from 2013 to 2022, the export prices failed to regain momentum.

From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Poland (+0.4%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced a decline.
Chicory Imports in Germany
