The average chlorates; of sodium import price stood at $796 per ton in July 2023, dropping by -31.9% against the previous month. Over the period under review, the import price, however, saw a relatively flat trend pattern. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in December 2022 when the average import price increased by 48% m-o-m. The import price peaked at $1,397 per ton in January 2023; however, from February 2023 to July 2023, import prices remained at a lower figure.
Average prices varied somewhat amongst the major supplying countries. In July 2023, the country with the highest price was Sweden ($1,099 per ton), while the price for Finland amounted to $759 per ton.
From July 2022 to July 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by France (+7.0%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced more modest paces of growth.

The average chlorates; of sodium export price stood at $5,047 per ton in 2022, picking up by 4.9% against the previous year. In general, the export price posted a strong expansion. Over the period under review, the average export prices attained the peak figure at $13,307 per ton in 2020; however, from 2021 to 2022, the export prices stood at a somewhat lower figure.
There were significant differences in the average prices for the major foreign markets. In 2022, amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was Germany ($10,787 per ton), while the average price for exports to Bulgaria ($2,448 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Germany (+18.0%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced a decline.
Chlorates; of Sodium Imports in Poland
For the fourth year in a row, Poland recorded growth in supplies from abroad of chlorates; of sodia, which increased by 3% to 8.8K tons in 2022. The total import volume increased at an average annual rate of +6.0% over the period from 2019 to 2022; the trend pattern remained consistent, with somewhat noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2020 when imports increased by 12% against the previous year. Imports peaked in 2022 and are expected to retain growth in years to come.
In value terms, chlorates; of sodium imports skyrocketed to $8.5M in 2022. Over the period under review, total imports indicated a significant expansion from 2019 to 2022: its value increased at an average annual rate of +23.5% over the last three-year period. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2022 figures, imports increased by +88.5% against 2019 indices. As a result, imports attained the peak and are likely to continue growth in the immediate term.

For the third consecutive year, Poland recorded growth in overseas shipments of chlorates; of sodia, which increased by 49% to 557 kg in 2022. In general, exports recorded significant growth. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2021 when exports increased by 397%. Over the period under review, the exports attained the maximum in 2022 and are likely to see gradual growth in the near future.
In value terms, chlorates; of sodium exports soared to $2.8K in 2022. Overall, exports continue to indicate significant growth. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2021 when exports increased by 80%. Over the period under review, the exports reached the peak figure in 2022 and are likely to see steady growth in years to come.
