Cinnamon Price in the UK (CIF) - 2023
In May 2023, the average cinnamon import price amounted to $4,502 per ton, dropping by -19.3% against the previous month. In general, the import price recorded a mild decline. The growth pace was the most rapid in February 2023 an increase of 37% m-o-m. The import price peaked at $6,602 per ton in November 2022; however, from December 2022 to May 2023, import prices remained at a lower figure.
There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major supplying countries. In May 2023, the country with the highest price was Indonesia ($8,038 per ton), while the price for Vietnam ($3,493 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From May 2022 to May 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Sri Lanka (+0.2%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced mixed trend patterns.
Cinnamon Price in the UK (FOB) - 2023
In May 2023, the average cinnamon export price amounted to $5,467 per ton, declining by -32.6% against the previous month. Over the period under review, the export price showed a relatively flat trend pattern. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in April 2023 an increase of 45% month-to-month. Over the period under review, the average export prices attained the peak figure at $9,321 per ton in January 2023; however, from February 2023 to May 2023, the export prices stood at a somewhat lower figure.
There were significant differences in the average prices for the major export markets. In May 2023, the country with the highest price was Ireland ($13,414 per ton), while the average price for exports to the Netherlands totaled $4,847 per ton.
From May 2022 to May 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Germany (+4.7%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.
Cinnamon Imports in the UK
