The average copper; master alloys import price stood at $9,720 per ton in 2022, increasing by 3.6% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the import price, however, showed a relatively flat trend pattern. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2021 when the average import price increased by 46%. Over the period under review, average import prices attained the peak figure at $10,204 per ton in 2012; however, from 2013 to 2022, import prices remained at a lower figure.

Prices varied noticeably by country of origin: amid the top importers, the country with the highest price was China ($15,913 per ton), while the price for India ($7,909 per ton) was amongst the lowest.

From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by China (+10.6%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced more modest paces of growth.

As a result, the export price reached the peak level of $10,359 per ton, and then fell in the following year.

Overall, total imports indicated a prominent increase from 2019 to 2022: its value increased at an average annual rate of +10.6% over the last three years.
