Dried Vegetables Price in Germany (CIF) - 2023
The average dried vegetables import price stood at $4,203 per ton in June 2023, increasing by 9.6% against the previous month. Over the period from June 2022 to June 2023, it increased at an average monthly rate of +1.6%. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in August 2022 when the average import price increased by 14% against the previous month. Over the period under review, average import prices attained the peak figure at $4,657 per ton in April 2023; however, from May 2023 to June 2023, import prices failed to regain momentum.
Prices varied noticeably by the country of origin: the country with the highest price was Hungary ($13,610 per ton), while the price for Belgium ($2,219 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From June 2022 to June 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Hungary (+9.5%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced more modest paces of growth.

The average dried vegetables export price stood at $9,417 per ton in June 2023, picking up by 4% against the previous month. Over the period from June 2022 to June 2023, it increased at an average monthly rate of +3.4%. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in August 2022 an increase of 14% m-o-m. The export price peaked in June 2023.
There were significant differences in the average prices for the major external markets. In June 2023, the country with the highest price was Hungary ($24,955 per ton), while the average price for exports to Poland ($4,352 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From June 2022 to June 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Hungary (+8.5%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.
Dried Vegetables Imports in Germany
In 2022, overseas purchases of dried vegetables and mixtures of vegetables decreased by -9.7% to 48K tons, falling for the second year in a row after two years of growth. In general, imports, however, saw a relatively flat trend pattern. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2020 when imports increased by 17% against the previous year. As a result, imports attained the peak of 56K tons. From 2021 to 2022, the growth of imports failed to regain momentum.
In value terms, dried vegetables imports totaled $196M in 2022. The total import value increased at an average annual rate of +10.3% from 2019 to 2022; the trend pattern indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded in certain years. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2020 with an increase of 24%. Over the period under review, imports reached the peak figure in 2022 and are likely to see gradual growth in the immediate term.
