In June 2023, the average ester gums export price amounted to $2,482 per ton, stabilizing at the previous month. In general, the export price, however, showed a relatively flat trend pattern. The growth pace was the most rapid in December 2022 an increase of 4.6% month-to-month. Over the period under review, the average export prices attained the peak figure at $2,673 per ton in June 2022; however, from July 2022 to June 2023, the export prices failed to regain momentum.
Average prices varied somewhat for the major export markets. In June 2023, the countries with the highest prices were France ($3,302 per ton) and the United States ($2,826 per ton), while the average price for exports to Spain ($2,208 per ton) and Turkey ($2,223 per ton) were amongst the lowest.
From June 2022 to June 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Egypt (+0.7%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.

The average ester gums import price stood at $2,960 per ton in June 2023, increasing by 33% against the previous month. Over the period under review, the import price showed a relatively flat trend pattern. The import price peaked at $3,955 per ton in September 2022; however, from October 2022 to June 2023, import prices stood at a somewhat lower figure.
There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major supplying countries. In June 2023, the country with the highest price was Spain ($6,175 per ton), while the price for Sweden ($2,576 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From June 2022 to June 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by the Netherlands (+0.7%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced more modest paces of growth.
