In February 2022, the average ferro-alloys; ferro-nickel export price amounted to $5,554 per ton, approximately reflecting the previous month. Over the last twelve-month period, it increased at an average monthly rate of +1.9%. The growth pace was the most rapid in March 2021 when the average export price increased by 18% against the previous month. The export price peaked at $5,557 per ton in January 2022, and then declined slightly in the following month.
Average prices varied somewhat for the major overseas markets. In February 2022, the countries with the highest prices were Taiwan (Chinese) ($6,058 per ton) and South Korea ($5,668 per ton), while the average price for exports to Germany ($4,682 per ton) and the United States ($5,302 per ton) were amongst the lowest.
From February 2021 to February 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to the Netherlands (+3.8%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.
