The average ferro-alloys; ferro-nickel import price stood at $4,641 per ton in August 2023, growing by 29% against the previous month. Over the period under review, import price indicated a mild increase from August 2022 to August 2023: its price increased at an average monthly rate of +1.3% over the last twelve-month period. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on August 2023 figures, ferro-alloys; ferro-nickel import price increased by +45.6% against June 2023 indices. The import price peaked at $6,066 per ton in February 2023; however, from March 2023 to August 2023, import prices remained at a lower figure.
Prices varied noticeably by the country of origin: the country with the highest price was Brazil ($4,763 per ton), while the price for China totaled $698 per ton.
From August 2022 to August 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by New Caledonia (+2.1%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced mixed trend patterns.

In 2022, the average ferro-alloys; ferro-nickel export price amounted to $26,094 per ton, remaining stable against the previous year. Over the period under review, the export price, however, continues to indicate pronounced growth. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2020 when the average export price increased by 124%. As a result, the export price reached the peak level of $37,427 per ton. From 2021 to 2022, the average export prices remained at a lower figure.
Average prices varied noticeably for the major export markets. In 2022, amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was India ($26,085 per ton), while the average price for exports to Taiwan (Chinese) ($26,080 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Italy (+17.8%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.
