Glass Product Price in the United States (CIF) - 2022
The average glass product import price stood at $3,473 per ton in 2022, rising by 12% against the previous year. In general, the import price, however, faced a deep downturn. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2018 an increase of 39%. As a result, import price attained the peak level of $21,651 per ton. From 2019 to 2022, the average import prices remained at a lower figure.
There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major supplying countries. In 2022, amid the top importers, the country with the highest price was Mexico ($7,382 per ton), while the price for Malaysia ($736 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From 2013 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Malaysia (+25.9%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced mixed trend patterns.
Glass Product Price in the United States (FOB) - 2022
The average glass product export price stood at $32,972 per ton in 2022, reducing by -14.6% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the export price recorded a deep contraction. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2019 an increase of 15% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the average export prices hit record highs at $96,993 per ton in 2013; however, from 2014 to 2022, the export prices failed to regain momentum.
There were significant differences in the average prices for the major export markets. In 2022, amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was Japan ($191,745 per ton), while the average price for exports to Trinidad and Tobago ($910 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From 2013 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Trinidad and Tobago (+3.3%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.
Glass Product Imports in the United States
In 2022, after three years of growth, there was significant decline in supplies from abroad of glass products, when their volume decreased by -7.2% to 840K tons. Overall, imports, however, continue to indicate a significant increase. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2020 when imports increased by 519%.
In value terms, glass product imports expanded modestly to $2.9B in 2022. The total import value increased at an average annual rate of +7.0% from 2019 to 2022; however, the trend pattern remained relatively stable, with somewhat noticeable fluctuations in certain years. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2021 with an increase of 21% against the previous year. Imports peaked in 2022 and are likely to continue growth in years to come.

Glass Product Exports in the United States
