From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of consumption, amongst the key consuming countries, was attained by Spain (with a CAGR of +30.2%), while consumption for the other global leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

In value terms, the United States ($4.5B) led the market, alone. The second position in the ranking was held by Italy ($1.7B). It was followed by Japan.

It was distantly followed by handbags with outer surface of vulcanised fibre or of paperboard (239M units) and handbags with outer surface of leather, composition leather, or patent leather (176M units), together achieving a 19% share of total imports.

From 2012 to 2022, average annual rates of growth with regard to handbags with outer surface of plastic sheeting or of textile materials imports of stood at +1.3%. At the same time, handbags with outer surface of vulcanised fibre or of paperboard (+4.5%) displayed positive paces of growth.
