The average liquefied butanes import price stood at $549 per ton in 2022, dropping by -13.3% against the previous year. In general, the import price showed a deep slump. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2021 when the average import price increased by 41%. Over the period under review, average import prices hit record highs at $1,215 per ton in 2012; however, from 2013 to 2022, import prices failed to regain momentum.

Prices varied noticeably by country of origin: amid the top importers, the country with the highest price was the United States ($701 per ton), while the price for Nigeria ($266 per ton) was amongst the lowest.

From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by the United States (+5.9%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced a decline.

Over the period under review, the average export prices hit record highs at $1,694 per ton in 2012; however, from 2013 to 2022, the export prices failed to regain momentum.
