In June 2023, the average live fish import price amounted to $9,715 per ton, which is down by -69.4% against the previous month. Over the period under review, the import price saw a deep slump. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in January 2023 when the average import price increased by 1,981% against the previous month. As a result, import price reached the peak level of $78,575 per ton. From February 2023 to June 2023, the average import prices remained at a somewhat lower figure.
Prices varied noticeably by the country of origin: the country with the highest price was Italy ($91,337 per ton), while the price for Poland ($1,375 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From June 2022 to June 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Hungary (+4.5%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced more modest paces of growth.
