Magnetic Media Price in Singapore (FOB) - 2022
The average magnetic media export price stood at $4.3 per unit in 2022, surging by 4.1% against the previous year. In general, the export price, however, recorded a slight decrease. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2018 an increase of 4.4% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the average export prices attained the maximum at $5 per unit in 2012; however, from 2013 to 2022, the export prices remained at a lower figure.
Prices varied noticeably by country of destination: amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was India ($8.1 per unit), while the average price for exports to China ($4 per unit) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to India (+12.1%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced a decline.

The average magnetic media import price stood at $5.4 per unit in September 2022, reducing by -13% against the previous month. Overall, the import price, however, showed a relatively flat trend pattern. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in December 2021 when the average import price increased by 55% m-o-m. From September 2021 to September 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by China (+5.0%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced more modest paces of growth.

In 2022, shipments abroad of magnetic media, not recorded, except cards with a magnetic stripe decreased by -26% to 388M units for the first time since 2018, thus ending a three-year rising trend. As a result, the exports attained the peak of 525M units, and then reduced rapidly in the following year.
