The average manganese oxides import price stood at $1,181 per ton in 2022, dropping by -2.6% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the import price continues to indicate a relatively flat trend pattern. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2015 an increase of 38% against the previous year. The import price peaked at $1,673 per ton in 2016; however, from 2017 to 2022, import prices failed to regain momentum.

There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major supplying countries. In 2022, amid the top importers, the country with the highest price was Singapore ($4,051 per ton), while the price for Thailand ($650 per ton) was amongst the lowest.

From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Singapore (+13.3%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced a decline.

In 2022, the average manganese oxides export price amounted to $1,961 per ton, falling by -7.4% against the previous year. Overall, the export price, however, recorded a relatively flat trend pattern. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2017 when the average export price increased by 18%. The export price peaked at $2,117 per ton in 2021, and then declined in the following year.

There were significant differences in the average prices for the major overseas markets. In 2022, amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was China ($9,732 per ton), while the average price for exports to Thailand stood at $1,917 per ton.

From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to China (+17.8%).

In 2022, imports of manganese oxideses into Myanmar amounted to 1.7K tons, remaining relatively unchanged against 2021 figures. The total import volume increased at an average annual rate of +2.6% over the period from 2019 to 2022; the trend pattern remained consistent, with only minor fluctuations being observed in certain years. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2020 with an increase of 21% against the previous year. As a result, imports reached the peak of 1.9K tons. From 2021 to 2022, the growth of imports remained at a somewhat lower figure.

In 2022, shipments abroad of manganese oxideses was finally on the rise to reach 525 tons after two years of decline. Overall, exports, however, continue to indicate a sharp decline.

In value terms, manganese oxides exports skyrocketed to $1M in 2022. Over the period under review, exports, however, showed a sharp downturn.
