In 2022, the average mixed fertilizer import price amounted to $558 per ton, with an increase of 13% against the previous year. Over the last decade, it increased at an average annual rate of +1.1%. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2021 when the average import price increased by 27% against the previous year. Over the period under review, average import prices attained the maximum in 2022 and is expected to retain growth in the immediate term.
There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major supplying countries. In 2022, amid the top importers, the country with the highest price was the Netherlands ($1,811 per ton), while the price for Norway ($275 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by the Netherlands (+15.2%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced more modest paces of growth.

In 2022, the average mixed fertilizer export price amounted to $725 per ton, growing by 65% against the previous year. Overall, the export price enjoyed prominent growth. As a result, the export price attained the peak level and is likely to continue growth in the immediate term.
Average prices varied somewhat for the major foreign markets. In 2022, amid the top suppliers, the highest price was recorded for prices to France ($905 per ton) and Ireland ($794 per ton), while the average price for exports to Spain ($646 per ton) and the UK ($771 per ton) were amongst the lowest.

Mixed Fertilizer Imports in Portugal
