Persimmon Price in France (CIF) - 2023
The average persimmon import price stood at $1,949 per ton in October 2023, falling by -24.9% against the previous month. Over the period under review, the import price, however, showed a relatively flat trend pattern. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in March 2023 an increase of 65% m-o-m. The import price peaked at $2,903 per ton in August 2023; however, from September 2023 to October 2023, import prices failed to regain momentum.
As there is only one major supplying country, the average price level is determined by prices for Morocco.
From October 2022 to October 2023, the rate of growth in terms of prices for Spain amounted to +3.7% per month.
Persimmon Price in France (FOB) - 2023
The average persimmon export price stood at $2,277 per ton in October 2023, falling by -32.4% against the previous month. Over the period under review, the export price, however, saw a relatively flat trend pattern. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in August 2023 an increase of 118% m-o-m. The export price peaked at $5,180 per ton in April 2023; however, from May 2023 to October 2023, the export prices failed to regain momentum.
Average prices varied somewhat for the major overseas markets. In October 2023, the highest price was recorded for prices to Switzerland ($2,379 per ton) and Norway ($2,099 per ton), while the average price for exports to the UK ($1,744 per ton) and Ukraine ($2,040 per ton) were amongst the lowest.
From October 2022 to October 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Moldova (+39.6%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.
Persimmon Imports in France
In 2022, purchases abroad of persimmons decreased by -15.6% to 17K tons, falling for the second year in a row after two years of growth. Overall, imports recorded a deep contraction. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2020 with an increase of 2.9%. As a result, imports reached the peak of 28K tons. From 2021 to 2022, the growth of imports remained at a lower figure.
