Petroleum Jelly Price in India (FOB) - 2023

In September 2023, the average petroleum jelly export price amounted to $1,660 per ton, remaining constant against the previous month. In general, the export price recorded a slight setback. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in July 2023 an increase of 4.2% against the previous month. Over the period under review, the average export prices reached the peak figure at $1,933 per ton in November 2022; however, from December 2022 to September 2023, the export prices failed to regain momentum.

There were significant differences in the average prices for the major foreign markets. In September 2023, the country with the highest price was the Netherlands ($4,036 per ton), while the average price for exports to Cote d'Ivoire ($1,309 per ton) was amongst the lowest.

From September 2022 to September 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to the United States (+0.4%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced a decline.

The average petroleum jelly import price stood at $2,362 per ton in September 2023, remaining constant against the previous month. Over the period under review, the import price continues to indicate a noticeable shrinkage. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in April 2023 an increase of 58% m-o-m. Over the period under review, average import prices hit record highs at $4,571 per ton in June 2023; however, from July 2023 to September 2023, import prices remained at a lower figure.

Prices varied noticeably by the country of origin: the country with the highest price was Belgium ($12,959 per ton), while the price for the United Arab Emirates ($1,551 per ton) was amongst the lowest.

From September 2022 to September 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Spain (+27.1%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced more modest paces of growth.
