The average import price for acids; aromatic polycarboxylic acids; phthalic anhydrides stood at $1,146 per ton in July 2023, remaining relatively unchanged against the previous month. Over the period under review, the import price showed a relatively flat trend pattern. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in June 2023 an increase of 15% m-o-m. Over the period under review, average import prices reached the maximum at $1,204 per ton in November 2022; however, from December 2022 to July 2023, import prices failed to regain momentum.
Average prices varied noticeably amongst the major supplying countries. In July 2023, the highest price was recorded for prices from Thailand ($1,170 per ton) and South Korea ($1,151 per ton), while the price for China ($1,128 per ton) and Russia ($1,150 per ton) were amongst the lowest.
From November 2022 to July 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Russia (+2.3%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced mixed trend patterns.

Overall, the export price saw a mild descent. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in February 2023 when the average export price increased by 14% against the previous month. Over the period under review, the average export prices hit record highs at $1,362 per ton in April 2023; however, from May 2023 to July 2023, the export prices remained at a lower figure.
Average prices varied noticeably for the major external markets. In July 2023, the countries with the highest prices were Tunisia ($1,203 per ton) and Bangladesh ($1,157 per ton), while the average price for exports to Italy ($1,051 per ton) and the United Arab Emirates ($1,052 per ton) were amongst the lowest.
From November 2022 to July 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Tunisia (+0.5%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced a decline.
