The average export price for acids; unsaturated acyclic monocarboxylic acids; acrylic acid and its saltses stood at $925 per ton in December 2023, surging by 5% against the previous month. Over the period under review, the export price, however, recorded a relatively flat trend pattern. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in February 2023 an increase of 9.6% month-to-month. Over the period under review, the average export prices reached the maximum at $1,083 per ton in May 2023; however, from June 2023 to December 2023, the export prices stood at a somewhat lower figure.
Average prices varied somewhat for the major overseas markets. In December 2023, the countries with the highest prices were Australia ($1,043 per ton) and Thailand ($967 per ton), while the average price for exports to India ($825 per ton) and South Korea ($840 per ton) were amongst the lowest.
From January 2023 to December 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to China (+1.1%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced a decline.

Over the period under review, the import price showed a relatively flat trend pattern. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in June 2023 an increase of 11% m-o-m. As a result, import price attained the peak level of $1,303 per ton. From July 2023 to December 2023, the average import prices remained at a somewhat lower figure.
Average prices varied noticeably amongst the major supplying countries. In December 2023, the country with the highest price was China ($1,238 per ton), while the price for Japan stood at $1,068 per ton.
From January 2023 to December 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by China (+0.3%).
